Despite the state goal of animal protection, millions of animals suffer every day in Germany. The federal government is failing in its duty to protect them as sentient beings. On the contrary: practices that cause suffering are routinely carried out on animals - and quite legally. For decades, the federal government has ignored society's desire for more animal welfare. In order to stop the anti-animal lobbying, it is urgently necessary to separate animal protection from the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture. Systematic violence against animals is tolerated there in order to maximize economic profit. Animals need legal and political representation that has an effective influence on decisions and actions.
